Allnutrition NAC, or N-acetyl L-cysteine - is a modified form of cysteine from acetyl group. Cysteine is one of the endogenous amino acids (i.e., those which can be synthesised by the body itself), containing sulphur. Due to its specific structure, it is a very reactive amino acid and binds many toxic substances, so it supports detoxification processes. L-cysteine (together with glutamine and glycine) is also essential for the synthesis of glutathione – a powerful systemic antioxidant. It also participates in the synthesis of proteins, enzymes and coenzymes.
